The senior special adviser on sport to the deputy governor of Edo state, Sabrine Chikere has proclaimed that the state will return to the top in regards to sports in the country.
Edo state is due to host the Nigerian Sports Festival, Edo 2020 which is reportedly slated for October 2020.
Chikere who was guest on the sport online platform, Family United by Football, FUBF said the Edo state government is taking sport as a serious business.
“Generally, sport gradually is coming back to what it was then, when we had Bendel state. The (present) state government is taking sport to the next level and its original position by deliberately investing a lot in sport.”
The chairperson of Edo Queens football club, a top NWFL club side narrated that sport is culture for her.
“I am sport loving person. I played volleyball, was involved in athletics and the interest in sport is still burning in me.”
