The Edo State Sports Commission has pledged its full support to the ongoing Nigeria Scrabble Federation Festival in Benin City, Sports247 reports.

During a meeting with the Nigeria Scrabble Federation, Executive Chairman Honourable Amadin Desmond Enabulele reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to developing sports in Edo State.
Enabulele emphasized the commission’s collaboration with various sports associations, including the NSF, to accelerate sports development and secure a brighter future for Nigerian youth.
As a passionate sports administrator, he believes sports can drive economic growth and national development.
“We’re supporting initiatives aimed at driving sports in Nigeria in the right direction,” Enabulele stated.
Since taking office, he’s leveraged his business experience to revitalize the commission, yielding results like Team Edo’s podium finish at the Niger Delta Sports Festival.
The Scrabble Festival’s venue and organization reflect the commission’s intention to promote scrabble as a key mind sport.
Bright Idahosa, head of the festival’s organizing committee, thanked the commission for providing logistics and funding, praising their willingness to support scrabble development.
With strong backing, the festival is poised to set new standards and inspire participation in mind sports nationwide.
Notably, Edo State-born George Ezinore is currently Africa’s number two scrabble player, adding excitement to the event.
