Edo State Athletes and Coaches were in for a Monday morning surprise as the Chairman Edo State Sports Commission stormed the different training centres for the National Sports Festival without prior notice.
The Athletes had been in intensive training since the beginning of the year and the Chairman decided to visit all the centres to see how well the preparation was going by himself first hand.
Some of the centres visited were training venues for basketball, handball, volleyball, football, Judo, karate and Chess.
The Sports Commission Chairman obviously satisfied with what he saw, was also at the road side as Edo cyclists moved from one end of the state to the other.
The National Sports Festival comes up in Benin-City Edo State from March 20- April 4th 2020 and the mandate from the state Governor is for Edo to host and win well.
