Edo Queens of Benin and Robo Queens began the 2025 NWFL Premiership by shredding their respective opponents 5-0, and 5-1 respectively on Wednesday, Sports247 reports.
In the official opening match of the 2025 Nigeria Women Premier Football League, NWFL Premiership played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium saw the defending Champions, Edo Queens scored two goals before the 35th minute to lay the marker and unveiling their intention for the season by extension.

Rivers Angels also started the season on a winning note by outscoring Ibom Angels by 2-1, and Bayelsa Queens scored a late winner against Delta Queens to secure the maximum points at stake courtesy of Sefiat Idris 90+4 minute goal.
The 2025 NWFL continues next week Wednesday as teams continue the search for points that can guarantee them a place in the Super 6, which will determine the eventual winner of the title
