Edo Queens, Ibom Angels Set To Light up Dan Anyiam Stadium, As women Aiteo Cup Begins Sunday

Excited fervour and fiery passion are the dominant emotions in coach Moses Aduku led squad of Edo Queens FC as they set out for this year’s Aiteo Cup kick off against Ibom Angels of Akwa Ibom on Sunday the 31st July, 2022. Battle ground for cracker is Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri Imo State.

The technically adept Edo Queens players would travel to Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri to clash with Ibom Angels in a potentially explosive encounter.

Edo Queens who lost narrowly to FC Robo at the Semifinal stage last season are currently brimming with confidence, potentially ready to upset one or more of the bigger names in the knockout stage.

The battle of this widely anticipated match goes beyond the technical inputs of the managers as the real gladiators are ready to thrill Owerri fans from the blast of the whistle to the end.

Not minding the fact that the new Edo Queens manager is presently on National assignment with the U-20 National women team, it is however important to note that this will be his first official assignment for the State

Not withstanding, the highly rated new Edo Queens coach Moses Aduku, who is often referred to by football fans as one of the best, flamboyant, lucky, and resilient women football manager in the land. It is equally important to know that Moses Aduku’s assistants are also capable of acting effectively on behalf of their boss.

The Bayelsa State born – tactician who is also the assistant coach of the National U-20 Women team was unveiled this month as head coach of the Benin based Queens. He replaces Mathew Wemimo who was booted out after losing two crucial matches during the Super 6 competition and her failure to meet the set target given by her employers.

Despite the fact that Ibom Angels newly got promoted to the NWFL premiership side, they are not new to Edo Queens, they have been our arch- rivals before now. For this particular match against Ibom Angels and subsequent outings, Aduku’s girls are equipped and determined for the task.
Their never -say – die spirit plus the pain of losing to FC Robo in last year’s Aiteo Cup semifinal game should put the Queens on red alert.

As a team that is rejuvenated after Wemimo’s exit, the girls now swim in unity, cohesion and understanding. You will agree with me that Edo Queens FC are set to rewrite the wrongs of the past.
