Technical Manager of Edo Queens Football Club of Edo State Rollanson Odeh has commenced total overhauling of the team in preparations for the 2020/21 new Nigeria Women Football League season NWFL.
Addressing journalist at the new camp of the players in Benin- City, the veteran coach was full of praises for the State government for their Supports. He added that he is equally happy that he has fully settled down for serious business, that what he is doing now is beefing up the entire team in preparations for the big task ahead. He also warns his players against complacency, stressing that he would only work with players who are ready to give their best, adding that he is in Edo State to get results.
“Well, I’m very happy that we are back to training after a long period of staying at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most importantly, I feel very elated that Edo Queens FC players are now in their new camp. Looking at this magnificent structure that the State government has given to us, you do not need a prophet to tell you that they mean well for us.
Certainly, this is the best female football camp I have ever seen in Nigeria. So I want to personally commend our amiable Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu for the role he has played in ensuring that Edo State regains its premier position in the annal of Nigerian sports.” “Right now, we are gradually building up our team for the NWFL new football season which is tentatively billed to commence on the 9th of December 2020. For me after a critical evaluation of the team on the ground, it is important for me as the head of the Technical crew to do some little changes by overhauling the team because every football coach wants to get results, so I want the best for my team; hence I have decided to invite players that I think can give me the needed results.”
“Yes, I’m not going to reveal the news of the players now until they have completed everything they needed to do to be addressed as Edo Queens players. So when it is time for me to speak on my new players I will definitely do. But for now, we are building up and doing all we needed to do to have a good team that can stand the test of time. Again I want to use this opportunity to thank the Edo State government for giving me the opportunity to serve my State. And I want to also appeal to them especially our amiable and pragmatic Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu not to rest in his oars, because we are very happy to work under his able leadership. I want to say that Edo Queens will not disappoint him, we are totally committed to winning laurels and making the State proud.”
“Again I want to say that my girls have fully settled down ready for real business. I know within the next ten days we would be out of the State for training tour to prepare fully for new NWFL professional league Season.”
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Club Mrs. Sabina Chikere, and the entire management term have thrown their weights behind Super Eagles of Nigeria as they confront the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on November 13th in the 2021 AFCON Nations Cup Qualifiers at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin- City.
