Champions of the maiden edition of Flying officers cup in 2019 now Sheroes Cup, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin are in Abuja,the nation’s Federal Capital territory for the 4th edition of the Sheroes Cup pre- season tournament.
Edo Queens will be up against Heartland Queens on Friday the 4th of November,2022. Time for this match is 4pm in a venue yet to be decided while Adamawa Queens and Royal Queens FC are paired for the curtain raiser of the tournament,scheduled to kickoff immediately after the opening ceremony.
The Benin based Queens who finished fourth in the 2021/2022 Nigeria Women Football League season NWFL,as usual are using the Sheroes Cup pre-season tournament as a platform for their preparation for the forthcoming season,and to test and blend the new players with the old ones.
The coach Moses Aduku led Edo Queens team is being fortified ahead of the new season in their quest to challenge for the league title and Continental place.
It is on record that Edo Queens FC have been part of Sheroes pre-season tournament since it’s inception in 2019 in Makurdi, Benue State . Edo Queens won the maiden edition, came third in the second edition and came second in the 3rd edition.
In this year’s edition, a total of eight teams registered for the tournament. They are Edo Queens FC, Delta Queens FC, Heartland Queens FC, and Confluence Queens FC. Others are Adamawa Queens FC,Royal Queens FC, Nasarawa Amazons, and the host team Naija Ratel FC.
