The Chairman of the Edo State Football Association, Fred Newton, has officially inaugurated standing committees designed to champion the cause of football development in the region. This is in a bid to invigorate and elevate football in Edo State.

The inauguration, which took place on December 15th at the Edo State Sports Commission board room, marks a significant step in the strategic restructuring of football administration in the state.
Addressing the committee members during the inauguration ceremony, Chairman Fred Newton urged them to be dedicated, proactive, and committed to their respective roles.
He emphasized the need for a collaborative effort to rekindle the vibrancy of football in Edo State and ensure substantial development.
“We must meet to identify the areas we need to structure. We must meet to brainstorm, and we must meet to make football better,” Chairman Newton stated, emphasizing the collective responsibility to uplift football in the state.
“We are all seated here to see how to support your football. It’s your state. I’m from Edo state and every one of us here, we are from this state and we need to move football to greater heights.”
The committees, carefully selected based on merit and a rigorous selection process, are tasked with specific mandates to propel football to greater heights in Edo State. The newly inaugurated committees include:

In response, the vice-chairman of the Edo State Football Association and chairman of the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee, Kindness Ohiowele, assured that the committee’s goal is to propel Edo State football forward.
Other speakers at the inauguration acknowledged Chairman Newton for entrusting them with the opportunity to serve in their various capacities, pledging their commitment to fostering positive changes in football administration in Edo State.
