The award winning and history-making sports-loving Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Philip-Shaibu, has been scheduled to be in Lagos this weekend where he will be expected to play very important roles in different sporting activities in the city of acquatic splendor from February 11th to 13th, 2022.
Philip-Shauibu, who is a registered player of Nigerian league club, Bendel Insurance will be at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Friday, where Insurance FC are expected to play in a Nigeria National League, NNL, league opener against Lagos FA Cup defending Champions, Vandrezer FC, in a match that will be played under flood light with kick off fixed for 6pm.
It’s the first NNL game of the first tier league at the Teslim Balogun Stadium to be played under flood light.
The first ever serving Deputy Governor in Nigeria to win a gold medal at the National Sports Festival, would on Saturday, February 12, be at the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, where he is expected to set another record and write history as the first Deputy Governor to compete in the Silver label Lagos City Marathon.
While on Sunday, February 13th, the Edo State Deputy Governor will be in attendance at the Sportsville Awards of Excellence at the Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, where he is a award recipient of Sports Recognition Award together with the Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports, Chief Sunday Dare, Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Tonobok Okowa, his Bayelsa counterpart, Daniel Igali and NFF First Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi.
Other recipients of the award are Mike Itemuagbor, Hon. Ayo Omidiran, Olumide Oyedeji, Dr. Danladi Bako, John Momoh, Dr. Sunny Ojeagbase, Ugo Udezue, Hon. Bukola Olopade and Chief Segun Odegbami.
