Coach of Lagos State football team, Adesina Yusuf has admitted that his team still have a lot of issues, ahead of the upcoming National Sports Festival in February.
The Coach stated this after watching his side play out an intriguing goalless draw (0-0) against Joy Cometh Fc, an NNL side in a friendly match in preparation for the National event in Benin, come February.
Reacting after the match with Sports247, Yusuf admitted that there are still a lot of things to work on in his team, stating that his team still have some issues which they intend to solve, heading into the Sports Festival in February.
“Today’s game shows that we have a lot of issues in the team, going into the Festival. On Monday, we want to work on the tactical aspect of the team, as well as the fitness of the players, because football is a game of fitness, if you are not fit, you can’t play football, so we have to work on that”.
“We also have to work on the way we take our freekicks, corner kicks, penalties, and every other aspect of the game, so as to ensure that it becomes an advantage to us, not a disadvantage, heading into the National Showdown in Edo State, come February,” the outspoken Manager stated.
While been asked if he is monitoring the events of their opponents at the Festival, the master tactician stated that he does not really know much about their opponents, but he believes that any opposition given to them at the Festival, they (his team) will surely come out victorious.
“I don’t really know about our opposition at the Festival, because there are so many teams participating in the event from various states in the country, but I believe that any opponent we face at the Festival, we will definitely defeat them by the Special Grace of God,” he added.
The Lagos State football team has lined up some friendly matches, (Gateway Fc and Shooting Stars of Ibadan). They will hope to use these matches as a morale booster, ahead of the upcoming National Sports Festival in Benin, come February.
