Member of the 20th National Sports Festival covid-19 Committee,Shola Aiyepeku has assured Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare that the committee would meet the deadline given to them without delay.
Recently the sports Minister,Dare inaugurated committee to look into how the forthcoming National Sports Festival would hold without any flaw.
The Minister in accordance with National Council On Sports recently expected committee to submit report in the next 30 days from the date of the executive ordinary National Council On Sports.
In his reaction,the chairman Lagos State Sports Commission,Aiyepeku who is also a member of the committee said there is no cause for alarm saying that all members of the committee are now working round the clock to meet the deadline given to them.
“We have started working already and we know the task ahead of us.We are not afraid of the time given to us but I want to assure honourable sports minster that the report would be ready at the stipulated time,”he said.
The committee is expected to interface with all relevant agencies to determine the covid-19 infrastructure that must be put in place for festival.
In addition,the committee is expected to prepare a code of operation that would guide that athletes, officials, spectators,LOC,MOC and Other relevant stakeholders towards the successful of festival.
The committee would propose the date for the National Sports Festival.
Meanwhile the National Sports Festival which supposed to commence on March in Edo State was postponed by the government due to the pandemic disease ravaging the world.
