Former Super Eagles player and Shooting Stars Sports Club head coach, Edith Olumide Agoye has disclosed that he married education and football together when he was in the university.
The 44 year old studied at the University of Ibadan while he was an active first team player of 3SC, Ibadan.
Agoye who was a guest on WhatsApp platform, Family United by Football on Sunday said “I was able to marry education and football together.”
“It was not easy, was a difficult one, but I am happy I did it. However, it took a lot away from me; I did not enjoy any bit of my youth days. It was either I was in class or I was on the field.”
The former Enyimba and shooting stars player lauded 3SC’s management, Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde and sports commissioner for transforming the club.
“The GM, Rasheed Balogun has been doing a tremendous job. Youth and Sports commissioner, Seun Fakarode as well as the governor, Seyi Makinde have all been wonderful. They have transformed the club side.”
Agoye played just once for the national team in 2002 but scored 21 times in 42 appearances in his first stint at Shooting Stars.
