Former ABS Coach Yusuf Salihu has described the Chief Executive Officer of Monimitchelle Sports Facility Company, Ebi Egbe as a blessing to Nigerian and African football.
Speaking with Sports247 in Sagamu after a pre-season friendly match between his tutored TopPro Selected side and Remo Stars, Salihu expressed his delight with the newly constructed hybrid synthetic playing pitches of the Kunle Soname owned NNL side.
” These playing surfaces are beautiful and look and feels like the pitches in England and other European countries.
” I am equally happy and satisfied with the ball behaviors on this pitch. It is safer, healthier, and foot-friendly. Imagine the ways and manners my players were gliding and sliding elegantly on the pitch,” Salihu said amidst smiles.
” Ebi Egbe and his Monimitchelle company are doing us proud. And I must admit that he is, indeed, a blessing to Nigerian and African football,” Salihu added.
He went ahead to admonish state governments, corporate organisations, and well-placed individuals, to put their premium money where their mouths are. He further noted that for any meaningful improvement in the standard and quality of play in Nigerian football, there must invest in such world-class hybrid synthetic pitches.
