Former national athlete and coach, Brown Ebewele (Jujuman) is still battling hard in hospital to regain usage of his legs, following a scary car accident along Lagos-Benin Expressway.
Ebewele, who is the former commissioner for sports in Edo State and current board member of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN), was on his way to Benin City, after the investiture of Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) patrons in Lagos.
Sports247.ng gathered that he was on his way back to his base when his private car was involved in an accident near Ore, Ondo State.
Ebewele, who was AFN technical director under Tony Urhobo, who was president between 1997 and 1998, was rushed to a private orthopedic hospital in Benin City, where he is still receiving treatment.
Ebewele recounted: “I don’t really know what happened, but all I can remember is that my car hit a stationery van and somersaulted many times.
“I sustained a spinal cord injury in the lower region, and I can’t walk.
“I can’t even raise my legs. I have been in one position since then. It is very serious.”
