Eberechi Eze Excited To End QPR Goals Drought

Queens Park Rangers of England attacker, Eberechi Eze has admitted he was excited to end a goals drought that hit him since September.

After netting in a 2-2 draw for QPR away to Aston Villa on New Year’s Day, sports247.ng can report that Eze is standing tall once again and admits he is relieved.

Eze, who is on contract at Loftus Road until June 2021, has scored four goals and four assists for QPR this season in the English Championship, but he admits it could have been more.

However, he put aside his personal resurgence to praise the fighting spirit of his teammates, as he says they all knew it would be a difficult fixture.

Prior to the clash at Villa Park, The Rs had won in just one of their last five trips to the arena and Eze is happy with the part he played in ensuring they got shared points with their hosts.

The former Arsenal youth team player struck in the 57th minute for his side’s second goal, thus ending his wait for a goal since September 2018.

Eze stated: “It’s been a while! I’m just happy to do what I can to help the team and luckily today it came off.
“We knew it was going to be tough but I think we did ourselves proud with the way that we played.

“It’s a tough place to come to get anything. We knew it was going to be a battle but I think we did ourselves proud with the way we played.

“We had to dig deep at the end but it shows the resilience we’ve got now and, in the end, a point was probably fair.”
