A run of three straight victories in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has seen Nigeria’s Super Eagles move up four spots to 44th position in the latest FIFA global football ranking and third in Africa.
Sports247.ng gather than Nigeria is the highest moving African team in the latest rankings released by the world football governing body on Thursday, as the three-time AFCON champions gathered 1,431 points.
The Eagles’ total points haul for October is higher than 1,415 they had in September, leaving them behind only Tunisia and Senegal in Africa.
Congo Democratic Republic and Morocco complete the top five teams in the continent in that order, while Nigeria’s opponents in Group E of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers – South Africa, Libya and Seychelles – are in 73rd, 105th and 188th positions respectively.
