Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme grabbed two assists as Trabzonspor defeated Rizespor 3-2 in the final Turkish Super League game of the season on Friday.
Nwakaeme who is without a goal in his last five league games provided an assist for Hugo Rodallega’s first goal in the 20th minute and Abdukadir Omur’s winner in the 43rd minute to end the season on a high.
The 30-year-old scored ten goals and made 12 assists in 27 matches for Trabzonspor in his debut season – having moved from Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Trabzonspor also finished fourth in the league and will feature in the Europa League next season.
In contrast, Henry Onyekuru who came on at the half time for Turkish double champions Galatasaray could not help salvage a point as his team lost 4-3 to Sivasspor.
The Everton loanee scored 16 goals and provided six assists in all competitions this season.
In France, Samuel Kalu came on in the second half of Bordeaux’s 1-0 win over Caen on Friday in the Ligue 1.
