Crotone President Gianni Vrenna has lauded praise on Simy Nwankwo, after the striker extended his contract for the next three years with the Italian Serie B side, Sports247 report.
Simy, who linked up with Crotone from Portuguese club Gil Vicente in 2006 has scored 24 goals in 77 league appearances for the club.
“Simy is an exemplary professional, an excellent guy both on and off the field,” Gianni told the club’s official website.
“He joined the Rossoblu family three years ago and won over everyone with his generosity and goals. We are very satisfied with the agreement reached.”
Simy was part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but failed to register a goal.
“I am very happy to be able to continue my story with this shirt,” Simy said after signing the contract extension.
“In Crotone, I grew up both as a man and as a footballer and I also became a dad. I thank the club for the trust it has always placed in me.”
