On August 5th, the Eko Boys High School field witnessed the crowning of the Eagle Wings team as winners of the first inter-group sports competition organized by the Fit Mum Foundation.
In an exclusive interview with Sports247, the team’s captain, Bada Oluwatobifunmi, offered valuable insights into the group’s preparation and aspirations.
Oluwatobifunmi has been an integral part of the FIT MUM foundation since its inception four years ago, holding the position of financial secretary and welfare officer among the executives. When asked about the preparations leading up to the competition, considering that the participants were mothers, businesswomen, and career women, she expressed, “I will say it has been an awesome and hectic journey. We have been putting in the effort, attending group rehearsals twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays, while also meeting every Saturday to perfect our performances as Fit Mums.”
She acknowledged the challenges faced by women in coordinating such events, stating, “You know women, I will not say there are no ups and downs, but despite everything, we come back together and find common ground. In agreement, there is disagreement.”
Reflecting on the competition, Oluwatobifunmi was elated, exclaiming, “The program is fantastic and beyond expectations for our first endeavor of this nature. I did not expect it to turn out this great, but it has been a truly amazing experience. I eagerly anticipate the next edition, envisioning it to be grander and even more spectacular.”
Looking to the future, the captain shared her ambitious aspirations, stating, “I am looking at a higher place than this. This victory should showcase us as a group, and I hope Lagos State takes personal interest, putting us at the forefront of sports.”
She emphasized the team’s high expectations for securing victory in the competition, and now, with their triumph, the Eagle Wings team stands proudly as champions of the Fit Mum Foundation’s inter-group sports competition.
Congratulations to the triumphant Eagle Wings team, their dedication and hard work have brought them well-deserved glory. The Fit Mum Foundation’s inaugural event has set the stage for even greater achievements in the future.
