The Interim Management Committee, IMC has resolved to announce to NPFL club owners during the meeting to take place today 6pm at Sandrialia Hotel.
Each team will have 25 million Naira as take off grant.
The IMC has succeeded to have secured 3 sponsorships. The first sponsor will take care of the league, while at the end of the abridged league, there’ll be Super 8 with a sponsor, and another sponsor for the TV rights. It’s looking good day by day, before the commencement of the league.
Let’s hope that the IMC will keep to their promises.
According to our source, “we are fully ready for the commencement of the season. It’s going to be a total brainstorming in the meeting today with club owners. We have resolved that each NPFL club will take 25 million Naira as take off grant. It’s going to be an abridged league, in order to meet up with the calendar across the world, and then there’s going to be a Super 8.
“In the Super 8, we will be able to know teams that will emerge first, second and third, and that will represent NPFL at the continental level.
“Also, the IMC headed by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and set up by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has agreed to this in order to enable us kick start the new season with minimal worries.
According to Elegbeleye, “We’re not succumbing to threats by clubs as may be insinuated by some. We are not under pressure to do their bidding”.
“Our interest is the league”, a member of the IMC who asked for anonymity stated.
“We already have the money to pay match officials indemnities up to the end of the season”, Elegbeleye concluded.
