D’Warriors Confident On Good Outing

The Match Day 2 of the 2022 Mindgames Scrabble Premier League comes alive as clubs hunt for more points in the Abuja,  the capital city of Nigeria this weekend.

With plans for another grand jamming event all set for the Ibeto Hotels, teams in Divisions 1 & 2 will be plotting to harvest more winning points when the mindgame resumes on Saturday.

Team Brainiacs will hope to extend their Match Day 1 slim lead with plenty of word-power and luck from the tile bag.

Airpop Alpha who conceded their pole position in the final round of games due to lower Players Result in Lagos, would  rely on their trusted backbone Adekoyejo “Shiekh ” Adegbesan for more filip on the sideline in order to rise highest on the table at the end of the day.

Other teams jostling points on the 12-team table are: Lekki Bombers, Bayelsa Maestros, Gracious Pickers Team A Bulldozers, Indomitables and Tekena Drones.

Others are Hurricanes, Phoenix, Supremes and Sterling Bombers.

Meanwhile, flamboyant Division 2 campaigners D’Warriors  are aiming to improve on their outings on Match Day 1.

Team owner Khaleel Adedeji who revealed the team’s direction in Abuja reflected on their performances going into this weekend’s “war” on the chequered board.

D’Warriors would be represented by Taiwo Adeniran, Adeagbo Babatunde,  Anthony Idorenyin,  Fubara Tamunosiki while Qamar Adebowale still remains the captain.

“Our main aim is to get back on track. We had a good start last Matchday but we lost steam midway. We would ensure the same doesn’t happen this time around by applying conservative approach during the games.”

He said the  team would look up to Abeokuta-based Adeagbo for some inspirations.

“Adeagbo is with us this time around, we believe he can give us some strength in our bid to be at the top. Nothing is going to be easy but we would be taking it rounds by rounds and ensure we win almost all our games.”

Having featured at the two regional championships in the South-South and South-West, Adedeji  believed the acquired new set of skills would be very handy.

” The idea is to have a medium where our players can play different hands. The tournaments were full of skillful players and the players did their best as Qamar and my humble self winning prizes while the others vied to learn from the mistakes they made during the event in order to get better.”

D’Warriors would face leaders Southern Crowns, Anagrammers, Aries, FPC Titans, High Flyers and Airpop Falcons, Encore Flamingos, Bayelsa Virtuoso, BSP Rangers, Matadors and Gracious Pickers in the Division 2 of the most glamorous scrabble league in Africa.
