Coach of Nigeria’s women basketball national team Otis Hughely has stated that he is very happy his players have all lived up to billing as a team after positing 3 wins in 4 games played so far at the ongoing FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain.
Hughely speaking on the team’s run so far stressed that he wants D’Tigress to maintain their focus.
He warned ahead of the quarter final clash with USA that any team that will be facing Nigeria should be ready for a battle.
“I’m delighted with the performance of the team in Spain. The players have given their best and lived up to expectation,” Hughely stated in a chat with Sports247.ng.
“In every tournament the challenge becomes tougher with every hurdle. The message to the ladies is to focus on the tasks ahead.”
“We have made our intentions clear in this competition. There is no need to start blowing our trumpet. Anyone facing Nigeria must be ready for war. We don’t have any form of phobia for any team in Spain.”
“Our next challenge is against USA. We won’t play under any form of pressure. The objective is very clear. A win which will be the turning point us,” he concluded.
