Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) board member, Colonel Sam Ahmedu (rtd) has disclosed that the country’s male national team, D’Tigers will have two months of camping in preparation for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.
Although Ahmedu admitted it would have been good to give the team a longer spell of preparations and camping, the West Africa FIBA zone-B representative said D’Tigers will adapt faster within a shorter time.
Consequently, unlike the female team, D’Tigress, who had nine months for their build-up program to the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain, their male counterpart will have less time to marshal their tactics.
However, Ahmedu enthused that the shorter span will not take anything away from D’Tigres’ chances of doing well, as he says they will also have a quality camping for a good outing in August 2019.
