D’Tigers of Nigeria in the latest rankings released by FIBA are now 22nd in the world and still number 1 in Africa.
The Nigeria Men’s basketball team moved a spot from 23rd to 22nd in the World and still remained the best team in African Basketball (Number 1) according to the latest FIBA world rankings released.
Nigeria’s climb was due to their outstanding performance in the first stage of the FIBA AfroBasket qualifiers, held in Rwanda in November.
D’Tigers of Nigeria won all its games at the Afrobasket qualifiers.
USA retained the number one spot in the FIBA world rankings as the World’s Best Basketball team, Spain in Second, Australia in Third, Argentina in Fourth and Serbia in Fifth to make up the Top Five best Basketball team in the world.
France is in the Sixth position, with Greece, Lithuania, Russia, and Brazil all being the Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth best-ranked Basketball team respectively, according to FIBA.
