The D’Tigers of Nigeria have been ranked second (2nd) in the newly released FIBA Africa Net-Rating, after an impressive and amazing displays at the just concluded FIBA AfroBaskeball qualifiers held in Rwanda.
The D’Tigers won all their three (3) games in the group against South Sudan, Rwanda and Mali in an outstanding manner.
Net Rating is an advanced statistic metric that can be used to measure a team’s efficiency. Basically, it measures how many points a team outscores their opponent per 100 possessions and is calculated by subtracting a team’s Defensive Rating from their Offensive Rating.
The Tunisia Basketball team finished 1st in the Net-Rating with 28.0, Nigeria in 2nd with 26.8, Senegal in 3rd with 24.2, Cameroon in 4th with 23.5 and Egypt in 5th with 20.7. Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, DR Congo, South Sudan and Cape Verde all completed the top 10 in the FIBA Africa Net-Rating. The next round of qualifiers is scheduled for February 2021.
The D’Tigers of Nigeria were African Champions in 2015 and will aim to win the title yet again when the Championship commences in 2021.
