Captain of DreamStars Ladies, Anuoluwapo Salisu has expressed her joy towards her team picking up their first win of the 2020/2021 NWFL season, after defeating Ibom Angels 3-2 in their match Day 4 encounter, played on Wednesday in Agege Stadium.
DreamStars Ladies defeated Ibom Angels 3-2 in a fascinating encounter, with Anuoluwapo Salisu, captain of the side, scoring a brace (the first goal and the third goal), in the game, as they marked their first win of the NWFL season.
In a chat with Sports247 after helping her team record their first win of the season, Captain of the team, Anuoluwapo Salisu expressed her happiness towards her team’s first league victory of the season, stating that determination, focus, and hard work in training were huge factors which perpetuated their eagerness to win the game, after losing their first 3 league matches of the season. She also expressed optimism that the win will give them a confidence boost ahead of subsequent matches in the league.
“I am very very excited. I want to thank God for the victory. We were well determined and are well focused on the encounter because we lost our first 3 games of the season, so we were determined and trained really hard to get the win”.
“The pressure was on me and on us to win the game, after losing the first 3 matches, so we had to step up our game. With the win, I believe it will give us the confidence to execute subsequent matches,” she stated.
The Amazing Captain also added that she believes her team will finish among the first 7 best teams in the league come the end of the season.
“The chances of my team ( Dreamstar Ladies) is to finish from 1st to 7th, which I believe we will be there by the Grace of God.
Anuoluwapo Salisu finally admitted that determination and Hardwork have been her main powers and huge factors for her impressive form for Dreamstar Ladies, as she has won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in back to back matches.
