In the recent Lagos State Football Association (FA) bye-elections, Dotun Coker emerged as the sole qualified candidate for the Vice-Chairman seat following a rigorous screening process conducted by the Electoral Committee.
The Lagos State Football Association Electoral Committee, led by Alhaji Tijani Abdulazeez, screened candidates for the vacant Vice-Chairman position.
Initially, two aspirants, Abdulrahman Abolore and Adedotun Coker, obtained nomination forms to contest the elections.
However, Abdulrahman Abolore was disqualified for violating Article 5L of the Electoral guidelines, as stipulated by the committee.
Consequently, Adedotun Coker, having met all the necessary requirements, was cleared as the sole candidate for the Vice Chairmanship Bye-Election.
The election is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the FA Secretariat on Ogunlana Drive, Surulere, Lagos.
This vacancy arose after Hajji Gafar Liameed was unanimously elected by the FA Congress to replace the impeached former Chairman, Fouad Oki.
Dotun Coker’s declaration as the sole candidate for the Vice-Chairman seat underscores the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
As the only contender, Coker now awaits the outcome of the election, poised to potentially assume the role and contribute to the development of football in Lagos State.
