Former Nigeria international and Iwuanyanwu Nationale attacker, Eddy Lord Dombraye has laid bare the secrets of Ukraine U20 team who have been pooled together with the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, alongside USA and Qatar in the group D of the FIFA U20 World Cup coming up in Poland.
Speaking from his base in Ukraine, Dombraye who is attached to the U17 team of Arsenal Kiev, was quick to advise the head coach of the Nigeria U20 team, Paul Aigbogun not to underrate any of the team’s opponent during the championship.
He stated that though the Ukrainian side is not highly rated in Europe, they should not be taken for granted.
” Ukraine under 20 team are not among the best in Europe, however, they should not be taken for granted because over 85 percent of the squad players have been together for over 3 years since their days as U17 and U19 players,” Dombraye, who holds the UEFA B and A coaching licences remarked.
” They are also likely to include the trio of Dynamo Kiev players, Vladyslav Supriaha, a striker aged 19 years and midfielders,Heorhi Tsitaishvii, and Yevhen Smyrnyi aged 18 and 20 years respectively,” he revealed.
He further disclosed that the technical crew of the Ukraine side have watched all the games of the Nigerian team.
” They have watched all our games and would therefore be better prepared to face our boys. However, if our team is given the necessary support and preparations, we shall definitely beat them,” he added.
Dombraye, who has expressed his desire to return to Nigeria as a football coach in the NPFL, admonished the NFF, to ensure that the Nigerian team is well motivated and encouraged to do the nation proud at the mundial.
