Coach Kabiru Dogo has disclosed that he is yet to renew his contract with Sunshine Stars as Technical Adviser ahead of next season’s Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL
Dogo said that the management of Sunshine Stars led by Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi is not ready to shift ground on the required working conditions and renumeration outlined by the tactician.
When asked on the development through telephone conversation, he said he remained hopeful that the negotiations will sail through to still be in the dugout of Sunshine Stars next season but will look elsewhere if the deal fall through.
Dogo who joined the Akure Gunners last season after his five years’ stay with Nasarawa United thanked the government of Ondo State and Sunshine Stars’ management as well as the sports loving people of Ondo State for their support so far.
“We are expecting that everything will go as planned for us to have a successful new season, I’m positive about it.
“We should have a better working environment with smooth working conditions more than what we have last season for us to take the team to greater level, that’s how I thinks we can achieve success together, but if we can’t, we have to move on.
“Honestly, the management have been so supportive and I want to thank them and the state government and sports loving people of Ondo State for the love and support since I joined them last season as I solicit for more to Sunshine Stars in new season,” Dogo said.
Sunshine Stars finished eight on the Group A log in the last abridged NPFL season.
Meanwhile, Katsina United are eyeing the former ABS FC’ tactician for the top job ahead of new season.
