Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Oluwadare Kehinde has charged the players and technical crew of Gateway United FC to leave nothing to chance in their bid to pick their first away points against Giant Brillars in the matchday 2 of the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League on Saturday 19th Feb., 2022.
Gateway United arrived Enugu at 9 this morning and will have a light training session at UNEC stadium at 4pm.
The Toyin Ayinla led side are leading group B1 by 3 points on goals difference.
While delivering the message of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Ogun State, the acting General Manager of the club, Niyi Soleye confirmed the winning bonus for the last game, opening victory over Campos FC of Owerri, with a charge on them to pick nothing but the maximum three points.
“First, I congratulate you once again for a perfect start but it doesn’t end there. In fact, it only calls for more work. Therefore the winning bonus for the win over Campos FC has been paid and the winning bonus attached to a possible victory against Giant Brillars will be offset immediately also. So do all you can to conquer Giant Brillars. Believe in yourself, believe in your ability to get result any where. It could be difficult particularly away matches, but you have to defy all odds”
“The current administration in the state led by Prince Dapo Abiodun has always been supportive. As a sports loving governor, you can attest to the payment of your salaries and bonuses as and when due, and this administration is always ready to do more but you must also repay the confidence reposed in you. Let’s make an emphatic statement that it’s no longer business as usual. So I beseech you to come back home with three points” he concluded.
