Divine Football Academy Owa Ekei, Agbor Delta State emerged Winners of the Ika Grassroots Football League U16 Tournament after a 2-1 defeat of Akumazi United on Wednesday at Gbenoba Grammar School Ground.
Akumazi FC took the lead in the 20th minute but moments later Divine FA leveled up through Sunday Emmanuel to end the first half 1-1.
Divine Increased the tally when Striker Ekene Cosmos found the target 17 minutes after the internal and held tight despite Akumazi’s Resilience to win the tie 2-1.
Trophies Donated by the Organizer KG Sports Foundation were presented to the Winners Divine FA and Runner Up Akunazi United By Head Coach of KG Sports Academy Lucky Lansana.
Dr. Ken Gadaffi the CEO Sports Development and Enpowerment Initiative (SDEI) congratulated both team ls for making it to the finals and hailed Divine FA for clinching the title.
“It’s great to see young players playing and l must commend both teams for reaching the finals and congrats go Divine FA for winning the tournament” the Founder of KG Sports Foundation stated
Divine FC got to the finals winning Ultimate Stars 3-2 on Aggregates while Akumazi Defeated KG Sports Academy 2-1 on Aggregates.
The Semi finals was played home and Away basis before a one legged Finals.
