Director of Broad City FC, Bamidele Olusanya has revealed to Sports247 that his team are looking to break into the Nigerian football league system.
Based in Lagos, Broad City is a club with a growing reputation for developing fine players for Nigerian national youth teams and for professional clubs at large.
In a lengthy interview with Sports247, Bamidele detailed the immediate and long-term targets of his team.
“We have a very great plan, a great platform. As of now, we are still trying to have a very good structure which I believe is a good start for us for the beginning of the year,” he said.
“We are more of an academy but we are growing to be a proper academy that a lot of people are going to know,” he said.
When asked if his team’s ambitions of entering into the Nigerian football league system, Bamidele was straightforward with his answers.
“That’s the big task for us because most of our boys haven’t had that much experience in playing competitively,” he admitted.
“We are looking to playing in the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) in the next few years. NLO is going to give us a good experience and it’s going to develop our players.
“Now we have restrictions with traveling but I think the NLO will give us more competitive games and different things from different players. And I believe our team is going to excel and do great.”
