The Delta state football Association (DFA) chairman, Hon Ken Nwamuocha has charged the state female football team, Delta Queen of Asaba, to continue to raise the state’s flag high at the ongoing 2023 edition of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B qualifiers taking place in Benin city, Edo state.

The state football boss gave the charge on Monday in Asaba at the Patrick Okpomo football house.
Hon, Nwamuocha congratulated the Pearls for putting up a superlative performance to defeat Burkina Faso side USFA 3-0 in their WAFU-B qualifiers opening match played on Sunday.
He urged them to take their next game even more seriously to ensure that they pick the ticket to represent the zone at the continental level.
while assuring them that Deltans have been following the tournament with keen interest and delighted at their display of skill and teamwork since the beginning of the Competition, hon, Nwamuocha, said the DFA, will continue to create an enabling environment for football development in the state so as to enable its teams to excel.
“On behalf of the state football fraternity I commend you, your coaches, and your management for the good job done so far, we are solidly behind you and strongly believe that the trophy will be coming home to Asaba.”
The DFA boss further advised the players to remain focused and avoid being distracted but to put in their best as usual to archive the set target which is qualifying for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Delta Queens’ next group match at the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B qualifiers will be on Friday, August 25th, 2023, against Sam Nelly Fc of Benin Republic by 4 pm at the Sam ogbemudia stadium Benin City.
