General Manager of Collins Edwin Football Club of Lagos, Ugwu Jay Uche has insisted that the club priority in the year 2023 is to develop, nurture and mentor the young players to stardom.
Ugwu while speaking with sports 247.ng recently explained that developing the players is the main watchword of the club noted that the club has positioned itself to achieve greatness in the new year.
“Developing the young players and marketing them to the bigger club is our priority over the years and we would continue to do that this year.We thank God that some of our players we marketed are doing well in their various clubs and we still have more players to push out this year,” he said.
Ugwu further said aside developing and marketing the players, he quickly said the team would involve in many football scouting programmes and other high profile football competitions in the state.
“We would involve in the scouting football tournaments and of course we are planning to play in Lagos FA Cup and other high quality football tournaments in this year.But like i said earlier our priority is to develop the players and market them to professional club within and outside the country,”he said.
Presently the Lagos based amateur one are currently taking part in the ongoing players management scouting tournament in Lagos.
In the two matches they played, Collins Edwin defeated Real Sapphire FC 2-0, and humbled Dominion Hotspour 2-0
