As the commencement of Surulere regional league SRL is drawing nearer, the chairman of Depros football club of Ikeja, Evangelist Emeka Godson Ehirim has expressed confidence that his team are mentally and psychologically ready to win the title irrespective of the club taking part in the league.
Ehirim disclosed this in a chat with our correspondent over the weekend in Lagos. The boastful boss said there is no team that can stop his club from winning the title and noted that failure to qualify for super eight and win the league would be a huge disappointment to him and the entire club management.
“We have set a target for ourselves in the forthcoming Surulere regional league. Our target is to win the league and play in the super eight but anything short of that would be a temporary setback for the club. Presently my players are still doing their personal training. I do monitor them and some of them do send their personal training video to me to show that they are in a good frame of mind to wreak havoc on any team that comes to their way in the league,” he said.
Ehirim, who is the President of the Super Soccer Federation of Nigeria revealed that he will motivate his players to do well in this season.
“Players can only deliver if they are well motivated. immediately after Covid-19, when the league starts, I will start paying them training allowance and winning bonus as part of the motivation to enable the club to achieve their set goals,” he said.
Commenting on the executive members of SRL, vice president of Association Proprietors of Football Academy of Nigeria APFAN commended the members for their efforts to ensure that Surulere regional league receive public attention. He said the organisers have done well in the last season and urged them to work on the grey areas that can make the league better than the previous edition.
Meanwhile, the executive members of SRL recently met with media houses and assured them the better well-organized league. They promised that all the mistakes that occurred in the last season would be corrected.
