Dennerby Wards Off Worries Over South Africa

Nigeria’s women national team, Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby says he is not getting worried unduly over what his side stand to face in their first match of the African Womens Cup of Nations against South Africa, sports247.ng reports.

Nigeria are drawn in Group B of AWCON 2018, with their opener against South Africa, before also facing Kenya and Zambia.

Although Dennerby admits it will be a tough battle between two arch-rivals, the Swedish tactician insists it is not proper to worry about what his opponents are doing in preparation to take on his side.

Rather than bother to speak on what Banyana Banyana plan to unleash against Nigeria on November 18 in Cape Coast, Ghana, Dennerby said he is only staying focused on his team and how the players are adjusting to his tactics.

Dennerby stressed: “The first game is a tough one against South Africa. I know that they have played a lot of games to prepare the team.

“We know that it will be a tough game but, whatever happens, we know there are two more games to play.

“If we can have a feeling in the team that we should just focus on our own performance all the time then I think we can have a good success.”
