The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Hon. Onoriode Oborevwori, has officially handed over the remodeling and upgrade project of the Warri City Stadium to Peculiar Ultimate Consult Limited.

The formal transfer took place on Thursday during his visit to the facility, accompanied by key stakeholders, including officials from the Supervisory Ministry and the Warri South Local Government Chairman.
Hon. Oborevwori emphasized the importance of timely project completion and expressed confidence in the contracting firm’s ability to deliver a world-class sporting complex.
He praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving and funding the project, urging Warri residents to support the MORE Agenda for infrastructural development.
Managing Director of Peculiar Ultimate Consult, Mr. Adeleke Olariwaju, assured that the stadium upgrade—set for completion within 14 months—would feature a main bowl, two practice pitches, swimming and diving pools, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, as well as multipurpose halls.
Other dignitaries, including Commissioner of Housing Hon. Godknows Angele and Warri South LGA Chairman Hon. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, lauded the initiative as a major step in sports development.
The Warri City Stadium, which previously hosted the 2006 Women’s African Football Championship and the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, is set to regain its status as a premier sports destination, fostering talent and promoting excellence in Delta State.
