Delta Queens Stun Robo Queens with Dominant 4-1 Victory in Asaba

Delta Queens Football Club of Asaba defied expectations on Matchday 6, delivering a stunning 4-1 thrashing to the highly-rated Robo Queens FC of Lagos at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium.

Despite entering the match as underdogs, Coach Peter Dedevbo’s side dismantled their visitors, handing Robo Queens their heaviest defeat of the season. The game began with both teams battling for the opening goal, but a solid defensive display from the visitors and missed opportunities from both sides saw the first half end goalless.

However, the second half saw a dramatic shift as Delta Queens adjusted their tactics, catching their opponents off guard. The breakthrough came in the 49th minute when Destiny Itobor capitalized on a rebound off the crossbar, sending shockwaves through the Robo Queens’ defense. Just three minutes later, Goodness Ihioma doubled the lead, firing in from 17 yards after a poor clearance, sending the home fans into a frenzy.

Robo Queens struggled to recover, and in the 70th minute, Priscilla Omeje extended Delta Queens’ lead, finishing off a precise pass from Itobor with a well-placed shot. The visitors managed to pull one back from the penalty spot in the 87th minute after a foul inside the box.

But Delta Queens were not done yet. In stoppage time, Itobor struck again, finishing a pass from midfield maestro Dagogo. Although the Robo Queens goalkeeper initially blocked the shot, Itobor made no mistake with the rebound, sealing the emphatic victory.

After the match, Coach Dedevbo praised his players for their determination and tactical discipline. He emphasized the team’s ambition to win every game as they push for a place in the Super 6 at the end of the season.
