Tosan Blankson, the head coach of Delta Queens, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), has conceded that the ongoing season has presented significant challenges for his team.
He expressed doubts about their ability to qualify for the Super Six stage, let alone defend their title this season.
In a candid assessment of their campaign, Blankson revealed that Delta Queens have encountered numerous obstacles that have hindered their performance in the league.
Despite these challenges, he assured fans that the team remains determined to achieve success in the FA Cup this season.
“This season has been exceptionally difficult for Delta Queens, especially considering our status as defending champions.
We are facing various obstacles that may prevent us from advancing to the Super Six stage,” Blankson admitted.
While acknowledging the uphill battle they face in the league, Blankson remained optimistic about Delta Queens’ prospects in the FA Cup.
He emphasized the team’s unwavering commitment to success and pledged to give their all in pursuit of silverware.
“Even if we cannot secure the league title this year, I am confident that our efforts will bear fruit in the FA Cup.
Our players are giving their best, and as a coaching staff, we are fully committed to guiding them to success.
Winning the FA Cup is our priority, and we promise to give it our all,” Blankson affirmed.
Despite the setbacks in the league, Blankson’s determination to lead Delta Queens to glory in the FA Cup reflects the team’s resilience and fighting spirit as they navigate through a challenging season.
