DELTA FORCE RUMPLE GO ROUND IN ASABA

Delta Force Football Club of Asaba kicked its NPFL campaign on a winning note after an eighth minute penalty by Captain on the night Zaka Bala secured all three points for the hosts against visiting Go Round FC of Omoku, sports247.ng gathers.

The Delta Ambassadors got the early penalty following an infringement in the vital area after Go Round goalkeeper Godfrey Dede upended Eziokwu Uzoma while trying to connect a Philip Ozor cross. The resultant penalty converted by Zaka Bala spurred the visitors into action as they came out seeking an equalizer but the defence line led by Pascal Eze thwarted the attacking forays of the visitors.

On resumption Delta Force came out seeking a second goal and almost made it two but a glaring chance was blown away by Eziokwu Uzoma after he failed to connect a Zaka Bala cross with diminutive winger Anayo Iwuala who was the thorn in the flesh of the Go Round defence.

Delta force through Eziogwu wasted another chance after his goal bound shot sailed wide off its mark. Delta Force will next take on Nasarawa United on Wednesday in Lafia . The Emmanuel Deutsch tutored side will then face Yobe Desert Stars in Damaturi before tackling Gombe United, sports247.ng learns
