The recently conducted Delta State Football Association election has been described as illegal and an exercise in futility that can not stay the test of time. The acting Chairman of the State FA Fuludu Edema stated this during a chat with sports journalist on the most authoritative WhatsApp platform (NSM Rebranded) on Tuesday.
Mr Fuludu stated that he and ex-international Victor Ikpeba was the target of Amaju Melvin Pinnick to be kick out of the state FA as he sees them as his perceived enemies. Fuludu stressed that Amaju had earlier told him prepare for an election which Fuludu to be supported by Pinnick but story later changed. “In NFF’s Annual General Assembly in Asaba Amaju told the Congress that Edema Fuludu is the next Chairman by God’s grace”
Mr. Fuludu stated that the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick was the orchestrating this illegality to achieve his selfish interest which he said will definitely fail. According to him “the 2 Congress members against most of our advice went to Court. The NFF replied through their engaged lawyer in a preliminary objection that such matters cannot go to regular court. The members said you refused to set arbitration and you went ahead to empower an aberration of normalisation committee”.
“Now a list of cleared candidates came up for DFA elections organised by this normalisation committee. Against court interlocutory motion of stay action. Up till Monday morning calls and entreaties were coming to me to sheath my sword as if I be zoro to come and become vice chairman in this sham today. That it has been reserved for me. I told them this matter has gone beyond me because the board members I lead are there, those who went to court are there the South South Chairmen are there. Dignity and sense of responsibility demands that they be involved in any roundtable talk. Yet the powers that be said no. Fuludu just get in as vice chairman”
Mr Fuludu also described the election as funny kite “the other funny kite they flew and are flying now is that it was the turn of Delta North Senatorial District to have 8years on the seat. I asked how and when was this decision reached? We are told via a press conference by Kenneth Nwaomucha that it was a gentleman political agreement in 1999. Democracy in action. Remember Amaju told me in 2014 that it is vice to Chairman succession. In Benin in the presence of South South Chairmen he said he forgot about the rotational thing and that he has been reminded”.
