Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup Kicks Off Today with a Unique Novelty Match

The Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup commences today with a traditional novelty match at the FIFA Goal Project, Ode-Itsekiri, Big Warri, at 12 noon.

This exciting event aims to foster peace and unity among the six ethnic groups in Delta State.

The novelty match will feature a unique team composition, with Itsekiri and Izon ethnic groups joining forces to take on Urhobo, Ika, Isoko, and Kwale.

The tournament will run from November 16th to December 8th.
While the final is expected to hold at Ororokpe local government center on December 8th.

Designated Centers for Ethnic Groups are as follows:
_Izon_: Ogbe-Izon
_Itsekiri_: Nana Model College, Warri
_Urhobo_: Agbarho
_Isoko_: Oleh Township stadium
_Kwale_: Kwale Township stadium
_Ika_: Agbo Township stadium

Comrade Sheriff Mulade, President of the Center for Peace, Environmental and Justice, CEPEJ, a renowned Non governmental organisation,NGO, emphasizes the tournament’s role in promoting unity and peace among Delta State’s ethnic groups .

The Local Organizing Committee invites all residents to support this initiative, recognizing football’s power to foster universal peace and unity.
