Dele Ajayi has secured re-election as the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association after a closely contested election held at the Police Officers Mess in Akure.
Ajayi triumphed over his closest rival, Dele Ologbese, by a narrow margin of three votes, securing 12 votes to Ologbese’s 9. Barrister Remi and Henry Abiodun did not receive any votes.
In the Vice-Chairman race, Demeji Abimbola emerged victorious with 10 votes, edging out Henry Akingboju, who garnered 9 votes.
For the board positions, Babatunde Igbasan and Akindipe Akisola were elected to represent the Southern district. Aladetoyinbo and Isaac Olagunju secured seats for the Central senatorial district, while Aborowa Gabriel, Daodu Alexander, and Mohammed Abiodun were elected as representatives from the Northern senatorial district.
The election was observed by key football stakeholders, with Ameenu Mohammed representing the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Ekiti FA Chairman Oluwole Oloworemo attending as the South-West representative.
