In a decisive move to strengthen healthcare delivery at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abeokuta, Mr. Abdullahi Dayo Israel, recently appointed Chairman of the Governing Board of FMC Abeokuta, met with Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Pate.
The meeting provided a platform for Israel to present his letter of appointment and share his strategic vision for transforming FMC Abeokuta into a leading healthcare institution.

“My vision is clear—I am committed to working hand-in-hand with the management to decrease hospital-acquired infections, develop a comprehensive five-year strategic plan, enhance the welfare and safety of our healthcare workers, and improve the overall experience of our patients,” Israel stated.
As the new Chairman of FMC Abeokuta, Mr. Israel emphasized the importance of strategic planning, noting that the proposed five-year roadmap would focus on sustainable growth, quality healthcare delivery, and operational efficiency. Additionally, he highlighted the need to prioritize staff welfare, recognizing that the well-being of healthcare professionals directly impacts the quality of care provided to patients.
