Sports minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung has served a hint that Nigeria will no longer be left behind in the scheme of planning and preparations, as he says the sports budget for 2020 is already available.
Sports247.ng gathered that Dalung is sounding hopeful about a shade of better things to come for the country, as he says his ministry is planning way ahead for forthcoming events.
Dalung stressed that Nigeria’s budgetary proposal for 2020 has been made and hinted that the major target is for Nigeria to do well at the Olympic Games of the same year.
He affirmed that his administration is taking the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as a benchmark for better tidings on the international sporting scene for the country, hence the need for early budgetary planning.
Dalung added: “Our budgetary plan for 2020 is already outlined, and we expect all the sports federations that will participate at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan to ensure their athletes qualify and that they will all start early preparations for the Games.”
