Dakkada FC head coach, Emmanuel Ntuk, remains optimistic about his youthful squad’s potential despite conceding a late equalizer in their 2-2 draw against Abia Comets in Umuahia.
Bassey Bassey, making his first start of the season, scored twice from direct free-kicks in the first half, but Doukumo Wadulu capitalized on a goalmouth scramble to level the game five minutes from time.
Speaking after the matchday-eight fixture, the Uyo-born tactician expressed confidence in his team’s growing cohesion and adaptation to the demands of the NNL.
“My boys are young and gradually understanding the physical and mental demands of the league,” Ntuk stated. “We have great telepathy, high pressing, and quick transitions, and scoring five goals in two games shows we are becoming tough to beat.”
Ntuk, who remains unbeaten in four visits to Umuahia Township Stadium, will now turn his attention to Dakkada’s upcoming home clash against Smart City. Meanwhile, Abia Comets will travel to face Igbajo United at the Lanreleke Academy Stadium, Ile-Ogbo, Osun, on matchday nine.
