Nigeria Cycling Federation (NCF) are seeking more support from the federal government, but the body’s president, Engineer Giandomewico Assari says they can carry some of the weight themselves.
Rather than seek whole scale funding, Assari said the NCF are not expecting government to give them everything they need.
While affirming that the federation is trying to be self-reliant as possible, Assari charged the the federal government to facilitate certain areas of need, in order to make their operations easier.
Assari told sports247.ng: “We are scouting for sponsors from the private sector, which means we are not solely depending on government for funding.
“While we know that we cannot do without at least a token from the government, we know that it is high time an outsider assists us as well.”
