Customs VC Encouraged to Make First Lady Proud at 2025 African Women’s Club Volleyball Championship

As Nigeria prepares to host the prestigious 2025 African Women’s Club Volleyball Championship from April 1st to 14th at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), CGC Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has called on the Customs Volleyball Club (Customs VC) to deliver a stellar performance in honor of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON.

First Lady’s Commitment to Women’s Sports

Adeniyi expressed appreciation for Senator Tinubu’s steadfast support for women’s sports and her dedication to empowering young girls in Nigeria.

“We deeply appreciate Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for graciously accepting the role of Grand Patron for this tournament and for being a strong advocate for sports development in Nigeria,” he stated.

He also lauded her contributions to D’Tigress and the Super Falcons, highlighting how her backing has significantly uplifted women’s sports in the country.

“Her impact on D’Tigress and the Super Falcons has been remarkable. If our team delivers an outstanding performance, we have a great chance to make her proud.”

Hopes for a Strong Performance

Adeniyi further commended the First Lady’s role in youth development, particularly in education and sports, emphasizing how her efforts have created opportunities for young girls.

“She has done so much for the girl child, especially in the field of education, helping them unlock their potential. Our team must put in their best effort as a gesture of gratitude for her contributions.”

Expressing confidence in Customs VC, he noted that with the First Lady’s encouragement and the nation’s support, the team is well-positioned to leave a lasting impression in the championship.

“I anticipate a remarkable achievement that we can dedicate to her, recognizing all she has done for Nigerian women. We must make her proud, and I believe our team will rise to the occasion.”

With strong backing and high expectations, Customs VC is set to compete for glory at the African Women’s Club Volleyball Championship in Abuja.
