CSED TAKES PSHE EDUCATION TO FOUR SCHOOLS IN WARRI

The National Coordinator of CSED Initiative, Edema Fuludu volunteered into the mentoring of students initiative of the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education by visiting his alma mater, College of Commerce Warri and three other schools (Essi College 1 and 2 and Hussey College Warri).

During these PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) Education visits, Edema Fuludu, spoke to the students on working hard, self belief, developing their sport talents and taking part in extracurricular activities.

Edema Fuludu stated that all over the world, taking part in sports and pro-social activities help to reduce the incidents of drug abuse, cultism and gangsterism.

This PHSE Education visits which reached more than three thousand students, is a taster of what the Trustees of CSED Initiative intend to deliver to 100 (one hundred) secondary schools in the Niger Delta area, in 2020, which is a big sporting year in the international calendar.

The highlight of these visits to the four schools was the presentation of 2000 (two thousand) copies of drug awareness brochures that covered topics on alcohol, cannabis, ecstasy, prescription drugs, cocaine and inhalants drugs.

These brochures were equally shared among the four schools. These drug awareness brochures were freely donated to CSED Initiative by an American NGO (Foundation for a Drug Free World).

During his speech to the students of College of Commerce Warri, Edema Fuludu told them about his recent venture as a volunteer netball coach at an event in Edo State. Edema Fuludu stated that he will put in a good word to the Trustees of CSED to extend their netball programme to his alma mater in 2020.

Since College of Commerce Warri is a mixed secondary school and taking part in netball will empower and promote the health and well-being of the female students of the school.

Edema Fuludu stated that these visits to the four secondary schools was a very rewarding experience for him and he urged other benevolent Nigerians to consider vising their former secondary schools in order to inspire and direct the current students in the right pathway.

The Principals and teachers of the schools praised the efforts of Mr Edema Fuludu and the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for this programme.
