Despite the negative effect of the novel COVID 19 pandemic that halted all sporting calendar for 2020, the Nigerian Curling Federation (NCF) is not resting on its oars.
In an exclusive interview, Sports journalist, Ubong Bassey caught up with the NCF president, Mr. Damola Daniel who expressed optimism that all is still en course with the programmes of the Federation.
Recall that some months ago, the NCF president launched the foundation laying and flag off of the conatruction of the first ever curling training arena in Cross River State, Nigeria.
Mr Damola Daniel disclosed the planned facility inspection tour by the Cross River Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Offu Aya before the year 2020 winds down.
Mr. Daniel said, “The Cross River State Commissioner is about going to inspect the site probably this week as we spoke and also after seeing the site, then we can liaise with him and talk for us (NCF}to meet his Excellency, the governor of the state, Prof. Ben Ayade.”
” In order to see where the government of the state can come in to partner with NCF in building this facility.”
The NCF boss was positive that the facility which is the first of its kind in Nigeria will promote tourism in Cross River State from across the world and Africa.
